Levels of ISTQB certification

The advanced level is a more practical version of the initial level with a syllabus providing three main modules that is advanced test analyst, advanced technical test analyst and the advanced test manager which deals with test management concepts for managers. Each of the cited modules has a five day syllabus-based training program.
The expert certification is the final level this means it's for the leaders of the field of software testing .Its course work is more practical and demanding than the rest and focuses on specialization on certain practices and techniques. This level seeks to capitalize on knowledge gained in the advanced level. Its subdivided into three major topics i.e. improving the test process, test management, test automation and security testing. This level seeks to ensure consistency in carrying out proven practices and the understanding of such practices by software testing professional.
ISTQB certification exams
The foundation level has 40 multiple choice questions each carrying equal weight. A pass mark of 65% is required for certification in this level. All the 40 questions should be tackled within the 60 minutes duration or 75 minutes for the native speaking
The advanced level has three modules that is advanced test manager which comprises of 65 question completion time 3 hours and 65% pass mark, advanced technical test analyst with 65 question and a completion time of 2 hours and 65% pass mark.
The expert level exams is sub divided into two parts, part 1 has 20 questions and duration of 60 minutes while part 2 has a essay question to be completed within 2hours 30 minutes
